In March, Jess and I went to Moab for a weekend getaway. We explored a new hike called Hunter's Canyon just west of town. Jess took her brand new camera with her to practice her photography and Stella had fun jumping in and out of the creek. We camped out in Ken's Lake campground to try out our NEW 4 person REI tent. It was pretty easy to setup and withstood 20 mile an hour winds at night.

Jess and I went snowboarding in Telluride off of lift 10. This was the first time this season that she has snowboarded and she picked it right up. Video and some photos below. She only fell once the whole day!

Last weekend Jess, Kate, and I snowshoed with the doggies 20 minutes up the road at Lizardhead Wilderness Area. We hiked out to an igloo that was built in the woods just off the trail system. The igloo had a log book and candles for light. Kate made hot chocolate for all of us and the puppies got treats.

Stella and I headed out one afternoon after work to hike the Jud Wiebe Trail. I never hiked this 2 hour trail in the Winter before and wanted to test out my new snowshoes. We hiked to the top lookout which looks over Telluride. Enjoy the pics!

Our tradition in the three years we have lived in Telluride is to cut down our tree at the Covered Bridge Farm in Montrose, CO. Marcie and Ed visited us for Christmas this year and showed the rest of the town how to ski. A couple friends and I went to Silverton Mountain on Saturday for their opening day.Pretty good snow for the opening of a ski mountain. We had about 2 feet of powder at the top of the mountain but it became pretty thin near the bottom. The video before shows my point of view with my NEW GoPro helmet camera. Last weekend Jess and I camped along the Colorado River in Moab, Utah. We found a nice spot close to the river but not near any partying campers. Stella had fun playing in the river and we hung out the next morning after breakfast until noon.The next day we visited the Moab Information Center and found a nice half day hike to the Corona and Bowtie Arches just outside of Arches National Park.

Telluride Film Festival was Labor Day weekend! Sunday we went for a picnic at Woods Lake. Turned out, there wasn't anywhere to picnic on the lake so we took a camping spot by the river for a couple hours so we could try out our new hammock! Recently Stella and I hiked up Ballard Horn towards the old Ballard Boarding house. I slept in and we got a late start, so we had to turn back before the boarding house before the afternoon lightning storms. Our other visitor this winter was Kate - all the way from cheese land, Wisconsin. We had lots of fun especially doing the New Belgium Scavenger Hunt where Kate won the NB bike! It was an awesome day. So we haven't written in awhile because it's been crazy here! After I came back from New York, we got our tree, decorated our apt for Christmas and then World Cup was here. Visa Snowboardcross came to Telluride the week of Dec 17-19. It was a blast having over 30 different countries in Telluride (felt like I was back in NYC for a minute). We went to the Covered Bridge Farm to cut our Christmas tree down again this year. Opening day for the Ski Resort was Thanksgiving Day. We finally got some more snow last week (about 2 feet) and it's a blizzard today! Last weekend, I flew back to NYC for girls' weekend with Mom, Ange, Rosie, Amy & Aunt Theresa. We had a blast! One of the highlights was hitting a designer jean sample sale. Even Rosie bought jeans! Our weekend in the city included a fabulous stay at the Omni Berskshire Hotel, shopping, checking out Macy's & Nordstorm's windows, the tree in Rockefeller Center, scrumptious dinners and a play.

On November 7th - 14th I traveled back east for a whirlwind east coast tour. Even though I spent half the time in a car, I was able to see as much family as possible in 7 days. The snowstorm hit Friday, pounding us all day and then into yesterday. It took a break this morning but is supposed to start again later. So far, we probably have about 2 feet and town looks like a winter wonderland! Stella played with her friend Guiness yesterday and today, Jared and I took her out to enjoy some family time in the snow.

For our anniversary, we went to Aspen for Julian & Stephen Marleys' concert at BellyUp. It was awesome!If you don't know, Julian & Stephen are two of Bob Marley's sons. Ange came into town for the week from New Jersey. The sisters got to hang out in Telluride!We started our first day in Moab, UT before having Ange settle into Telluride. Opening game against Akron. Played pretty well overall - defense looked kick ass; offense was still trying to find their groove. New backup qb looked good for the 1 min he played and our new receivers had some great catches. I think we'll have a great season and I'm so excited with my new direct tv! Film Festival in Telluride is here! Going to a few movies, mostly the free ones in the park . . . but our main goal is star watching! This is a post for a hike to Blue Lake from Telluride with some friends back on July 5th. This was my last big hike with Sandy and Steve before they moved to Alaska! Jared & I decided yesterday to head to Crested Butte for the weekend. Left stormy clouds in Telluride around 2 pm and arrived to sunny warm weather in the Butte around 5. Dave & I started out in the morning on Kilpacker Trail in the Lizardhead Wilderness Area. Our goal was to go hike 2 of the 3 fourteeners near the Navajo Lake Basin. Silver LakeWe start our hike by climbing up from Bridal Veil Falls at the end of town. The view is amazing once you get up to the top of the waterfall, but this is only the beginning of the hike.
